After the 20km ride in the rainfall yesterday, we opted to set an alarm so we could be on the road early. I definitely didn't need an alarm, as I only slept the first four hours. Not sure if it was the previous afternoon's caffes or jet lag, but I was awake extremely early.
We were a bit saddle sore as we left the Hotel Tiferno in Citta di Castello in the morning overcast skies, headed for Gubbio. As this ride would be a meander through the countryside with few towns, we opted to stop at a suggested bar 6km into the ride for a couple of paninni.

After this quick stop, it was back in the saddle to take on the network of patches that make up the country roads. These patches felt wonderful on the sore butts!

Wait - another hill? |
We eventually arrived in Gubbio in the early afternoon. After a quick shower we were off to find a bike shop to get some chain lube. As we walked back to the hotel, the afternoon rain started. At least we weren't riding in it today.
We didn't take many pictures today as the camera LCD screen was showing water drops on the LCD screen. I figured there was water on the lens and it would be a waste of time. But, it turns out that it is only a problem with the screen and not the lens. I guess I should have protected the camera a little better during our ride through the rain yesterday.
That night we had a nice dinner in a touristy restaurant that was situated in what looked like a basement. Excellent meal, but we were the only ones there and it was Italian dinner time (8:30PM). Hmmm.
